How to view and work with slides
In a course/folder or folder there can be many types of content the primary ones are slides:
If a slide is annotated there is a little speech bubble in the top right corner(1). These annotations are expert annotations provided by the platform owner. If you would like to know how to create your own annotations you can do that here: Student annotations
Let's talk about the general navigation first. There is the option to open a side panel (1) for a clearer overview of annotations and slide info. You can see where you are within the platform(2), and you can skip to the previous/next item in the course/folder(3).
You can zoom in and out of the slide with your mouse wheel or by using the + and - icons(4) you can also rotate the slide (5) these changes are temporary.
In the bottom right corner, you have a mini-map(6) telling you where you currently are within the slide itself.
Furthermore, you have a list if all annotations(1), additional slide information(2), and an overview of the other slides in the folder/course(3).
On the right side, you can access your annotations, notes and the group workspace(4).
If your platform allows it you can share a slide(5) and there is the option to, temporarily, change/adjust the slide colours(6).
If the correct metadata is provided, you will have the option to measure distance(7) and area (8) within the slide.
For presenters, there is also the option to choose a bigger cursor in different colours(9)
Within an annotated slide you can also see pins(10) or other icons marking the annotations within the slide.
To measure length select the measurement tool and click where you want your measurement to start. While measuring the line is dotted and black(left), once you finalise your measurement with a second click, it will turn a solid red(right).
To measure an area select the measurement tool and click where you want your measurement to start, each following click will create another node(left), making it easy to outline the structure you want to measure. To finalise your measurement double-click, and the outline will turn a solid red(right).
Measurements are temporary, leaving the slide or reloading it will remove the length and areas you measured.
You can access the expert view on every slide by clicking the icon.
This will open a side panel, which will remain on every slide until you close it by clicking the button again.
The panel provides additional information (1) for a slide if it was provided. An overview and filter option for all the annotations (2). If additional content boxes (3)were added they will also be displayed here. You can also see a list of all the other slides(4) within the course/folder you are currently viewing.
