Individual Quiz

Settings of an Individual Quiz

Once you've selected the quiz type Individual Quiz and pressed save you can start editing your quiz. An individual quiz lets you ask questions without slides, and add different questions (one or more) to each slide.

You can change your quiz title(1) at any time, and add a description (2). This is a standard WYSIWYG editor with the usual option to edit your text.

If you select "Block submitting quiz" and publish the quiz. it will be visible but nobody can submit their answers. Each quiz can be only submitted once. unless it is a "Selftest"

You can force a strict order in your quiz(4), meaning the user can not start with question four but must follow the order you set.

You can display your answer in random order (1) this is especially helpful if it is a "Selftest"(2a). Once you enable auto evaluation (2) two additional options will become available. Auto evaluation(2) allows the user to see if their answers are correct once a quiz is submitted. If you enable "Hide Questions and Answers after submitting"(2b) they will only get a score and won't be able to check each individual question.

Enabling auto evaluation will also enable the option to select the correct answer, wenn adding new questions to your quiz.

If the quiz is a "Selftest"(2a) the user can restart the quiz over and over again.

Your question can be numbered automatically(3) and you can also set a time limit for your quiz(4). Please note the time needs to be added in seconds, some math may be required.

If you would like to be notified when a user submits a quiz you can enter your email address (4).

And you can also set a thumbnail for your quiz.

Do not forget to save any changes you make.

Once you've set your basic options you can start adding questions to your quiz in the quiz drop-down menu.

There you can add a brand-new question (2) or choose an existing one (3), delete the quiz entirely (4) or copy your quiz (5) to be added to a different course/folder. Once you are ready for your quiz to be seen, don't forget to turn the visibility on(1)

When adding a new question you must formulate your question(1) and select the type of answer(2) you want. You can read more about the different types here: Quiz: Answer Types

Adding a slide (3) is optional, press create (4) to save your question.

You can not change the answer type once you've set it, but you can edit the question and description(1,2), as well as add a custom score(3). If no custom score is set, it will be automatically counted as 1 point.

You can reuse previously created questions by selecting "Add existing Questions"

Filter for the previously created questions by quiz name(1) and then select the ones you'd like to add (2) they will appear on the right side of the menu(3). You can select more than one from several quizzes to add(4) them to your new quiz.

You can add more than one question to a single slide (1), and have to option to edit your slide as usual.
