Annotations

How to annotate a slide and edit annotations

There are three types of annotations in SmartZoom®: Expert Annotations, Student Annotations and Group Annotations. This article will only discuss Expert Annotations and how to create them in the SlideManager. You can read more about Student and Group annotation here: Annotations for studentsWork Group Annotations

Every annotation created by someone with the role of Annotator, Teacher and Administrator counts as an expert annotation and is visible to all users. Once you've selected a Slide in the Slide Manager you can click on the "Annotate Image" button, and it will open a new prompt window:

Here, you can see the name of the slide you are working on (1) and have the slide viewer (2) where you can zoom in and move around as usual. There is the list of previously created expert annotations (3), if available, that you can move around, edit or delete (4). You also have the option to download current annotations(5) as a CSV file and navigate to the Add Annotations tab (6)

You have six different annotation types (1) and styles (2). First up are different kinds of pins.

To place an annotation navigate to the point of interest, the finished annotation will zoom into the level and area you've selected. Set your annotation(1) then give it a title(2) and additional text(3) which is optional, you can also add a link (4) to additional information (f.e. moodle) and save (5) your annotation.

You can add text directly to the Slide as well as arrows, lines and polygons.

You always have the option to select different colours and with lines and polygons also the option to do freehand.
